28 countries later and I’m pretty sure that I could create a jetsetter gift guide that fits all of your travel necessities! I am a professional packer and will leave that post for another day but let’s get to the tools that you need to pack well, get there safe,and be happy!
OK let’s start with tech
Of course there’s 1 million technology pieces that you can buy that will satisfy the needs that you have for all your traveling however I picked a few here that are vital to having a successful trip.
While traveling internationally you cannot do anything without having the correct travel adapters. Not only do you need the adapter but you also need the converter. The converter changes the voltage on your items that do not change voltage on their own so make sure you have both pieces. I’ve linked 2 different adapterS one universal adapter that comes in a four piece and the other that’s a multi faceted adapter both on Amazon, both affordable! Pick up both of them up you can never have enough adapters you always lose one when you’re moving around or you leave one actually in the socket because they kind of hide in there especially in Europe.
Next let’s grab our lens for our photos we want to embody our trip in the best light so to do that I recommend getting this pro lens set on Amazon for $45 it holds your phone and projector lens for distance. Pick one up if you are looking for a really professional photo and/or just seeing farther than your eyes can see.
Last tech item is actually the top item on my actual Christmas wish list!! Mark and Grahams charging bracelet. This is actually a bracelet that will charge your phone. You can be anywhere and charge your phone you don’t have to carry around an extra charger, fit in your handbag, carry around the cord, none of that! Its on your wrist ! you can buy the rose gold version and to top it all off you can have it engraved!! If that’s not the most perfect thing ever I’m not quite sure what is!! Fingers crossed that I get one for Christmas because I think it’s going to be a game changer.🚨🚨🚨
Next step let’s discuss functionality.
I have some serious requirements for some of these items that were about to talk about especially the bag. I fully vote for the Away bags that I recently purchased. actually a year ago last January I got the limited-edition bright yellow version from Nordstrom. I have both the big carry-on and the checked luggage size and both have treated me very well in my travels across the world this past year. I judge on ease ability of the wheels, the maximum amount of space for packing, and of course it should look cute!
Unfortunately my second piece of luggage for my carry-on recently has started to fall apart however to give her credit I bought her in the Barcelona airport at least five years ago for $70 and she has been amazing so I’m so sad that she must retire however because of this I have very high standards and requirements for the extra bag that will basically carry your life other than your clothes. With that I introduce to you the brand new MZ Wallace large metro tote DELUXE and let me tell you why it meets my requirements.
- it’s less than 2 pounds in its actual weight
- it has the luggage slide on the back To adhere your bag to your luggage handle
- It’s nylon which plays a big factor for me because a lot of the new buzz items in travel right now are all canvas bags and I’m just not into the canvas material for traveling. I don’t think it will wash well and I also think it will not stretch as much as used nylon
- Must have is a long strap that goes across your body this is specifically when I’m too tired to carry the bag and my husband can put it across his chest 🤣 but you want to be able to hold the bag in more than one way. whether that’s not occupying your shoulder or your hands but floating across your body it also depends on if you’re even caring a lot of things and you kind of just need to have options of where the bag will go
- my final requirement is that the bag should not have structure because you never know what you’re going to have to shove into this bag it could be your travel pillow it could be your extra outfit that you take on the plane all of your snacks or water bottles everything has to go in this bag so it must have very little shape so that you can shape it yourself!
Although I think this bag is quite pricey it is your right hand man! For a less pricey option that still meets all of my requirements and clearly Oprah’s 💥 Calpak Luca duffel bag is on Oprah’s favorite things! What I love about this bag is obviously it’s metallic, it’s gold, who doesn’t want something shiny and bright!? especially for the holidays such a great gift it is a little bit smaller in size versus the MZ Wallace but it’s almost $200 cheaper so if you have the option try both, tell me your favorite and let me know what you think!
So then let’s get to the functionality of your significant other or any man in your life your dad, your brother, or anyone! My husband thoroughly votes for Tumi backpacks as his favorite brand he uses them every day for work and he uses them for travel! their great durability, plenty of different functionality pockets and it never lets him down!
What we never ever leave home without, I’m pretty sure we picked it up in the aisle for five dollars in T.J. Maxx one day but it has saved our lives many times. Is a foldable backpack! when you are either coming home with more stuff than you planned or a bag breaks and you need a back up you must travel with a nylon foldable backpack it don’t doesn’t have to be back Pack you can also get a tote but regardless you should never travel without an extra bag. God for bid your zipper breaks or the bottom busts you need to have another option! It might not always be easy to hop over the store while you’re in another country and grab something to carry all your stuff that you can really count on so I’ve linked here to one of the best rated Amazon backpacks for travel so get your hands on it it’s only $18.
Lastly for functionality I love the Que water bottle because it’s collapsible. What may take up space in your bag on the way there when you’re finished you push it down it’s small takes up so much space when you need it again open it up so I’ll leave out the Que water bottle for a $25 spend
I also linked the Calpac silk neck rest and eye mask for travel which comes with a great clear bag keep it very clean and sanitized. Most importantly we all know that the silk is going to help with her against her skin and for our hair to keep everything nice and smooth especially for a beautiful landing to look your best and feel fresh
I have a lot of different beauty and wellness products that I use while I travel but I listed just my very top three here. I just cannot leave the house without traveling with nasal gel! I like AYR gel that I actually put into my nose as soon as I get on the plane researchers have said that you collect less germs when your nostrils are moist the reason you get sick on planes because the humidity is so high your passages are so dry and they hold on to the germs in the plane when they’re dry! If you continually add this nasal gel so your nose it should help the block some of those germs and also keep you moisturize so that you don’t get a bloody nose when you land or continually have to blow your nose when you arrive. I also want to make sure that I’m keeping everything clean so I will not leave without wipes that have a 75% of alcohol in them I linked a little case I can hold them for you however I just travel with them right in my carry-on right on the side as soon as I sit down I’m wiping everything down that you touch the screen in the tray the window the arm rest . Must do!
Again with moisturizing not only your nose you must keep your face and skin hydrated I love summer Fridays jet set mask which I apply and I also key but I did not posted the Evian water spray that’s aerosol as soon as I land I spray the water on my face to continually soak up any moisture since it’s going to be dried out so much in the air if you have the option of applying lotion maybe buy some lotion that’s on scented so that you continually put lotion on your arms your chest your neck just keep everything at moisturize especially for long flights.
A couple other things here that I added to the list is the jewelry roll from Kohl’s in the leopard print . I actually own a vera Bradley version! Mostly bloggers have been posting Bocces travel jewelry boxes on their gift guides. I personally don’t like a holder that is a box because that is taking up prime real estate in my bag !! I will get to you when we do a packing post but I much rather have a soft roll him and especially something that has a zippered pocket or a big zippered pocket because I don’t want to sit there and have to put every single earring in every single hole or attach each bracelet onto the links. Too much ! I need something Quick to put all my earrings together in the zipper close it up right. That fits not that it’s locked up by taking up the square space so if it’s not this role from Kohl’s or $15 I just vote soft case in general
You’ve probably seen a lot in social media about the fabulous new I’m ask from Lunya the restore sleep mask this thing is so magical and it supposed have so many benefits it’s supposed to aid in cell regeneration increase acceleration benefit in helping to reduce the appearance of fatigue and dark circles mean if that doesn’t tell you you should get it I don’t know what will
Another item that’s also on my personal ask Santa list this year is top to drop leather hat clip ! oh my God I really hope this changes my whole life because I have been seen bringing not only one but two hats along on my trips because I love a good hat! it always complete everything it also covers you from the sun so you don’t get any crazy sunburns on your face but this attaches to any bag that you have and the magnetic clip is supposed to enable your hat to stay on this clip no matter what so you can try it I’m hoping that I get it for Christmas I will report back I think it’s a game changer!
