It’s award season and that means fun exciting trends for us to transform into our daily lives! I thought it would be fun and exciting to find some affordable options of the ANTICIPATED trends for the upcoming Oscars red carpet. I highlighted three particular fashions; statement sleeves, layered tulle, and female power TUXES.

You’ve seen statements leaves on a lot of tops at Zara like the bubble organza sleeve but a couple of these fancy Oscar looks take it to the next level with the voluminous height and bright colors.

As we get into the tool in the organza layered look it’s like deciding do we want to go big on the sleeve or go big on the bottom. Incorporating that layered textured look in the bottom of the skirt is a fun trend right now. Gwyneth Paltrow did it at the Academy Awards with the golden sheer piece from Fendi. Do we think she did it in the best way??? No, not the greatest color for her skin, a little bit BoHo but that’s just my opinion. Let’s learn from our mistakes and make it a little glamorous with some of these looks while not losing the shape of the artist.

I love the push for female empowerment in all the award shows and how perfectly that plays with a POWER TUX. I found some fabulous and affordable options from Asos. Iridescent and sequin details that take a basic tux to a fan favorite. What I did do is combine the tux with a smaller trend, JUMPSUIT. I actually found you an affordable tuxedo jumpsuit that you can 100% transform into your every day closet. Spice it up for your evening wear or a day at the office. It could be a great staple piece within a French twist and a red lip you’ll be ready to shine!

Other trends featured in these affordable pieces are polkadots which I have been seen everywhere! I found a tulle layered dress with polkadots that combines both trends! The key here is finding the right size dots that you can actually see on the garment and making sure it’s fit for your body!

I planned on addressing COLOR but decided to focus on structure. But we can chat quick about key color trends for the Oscars. PINK which is normally out of the ordinary because most award shows have stayed away from pink as a girly color but as the pinks, purples, and red all come to fruition this spring season I think the media is embracing this pink color. We’re not talking just blush here we’re talking bright pinks, and fuschias! Another color is WHITE again usually avoided because of a bridal them but it’s just so fresh and clean (que outkast music) on the red carpet and really makes your make up and accessories shine and your skin glow!

Another trend that I think will be incorporated into the 2020 Oscars that I did not include here because I did not think it would play favorite in your every day wardrobe is the sheer CORSET look.

You can see above or in the past couple of award shows with dresses that have a pop of sheer in the midsection. But if you got it honey flaunt it!

Other small trends in accessories that I see is your 1920’s long satin gloves or gloves that match the fabric of your ensemble. Whether thats sequence or lacelike the look below.

I’ve also seen a lot of headbands I know that the public is wearing headbands with pearls and encrusted with stones into there every day looks I’m actually surprised it’s on the red carpet because they’re not as elevated as I would expect i.e. at the Met Gala circa with our headband crowns now that’s really pumping it up a bit but I’ve seen a lot of the normal pearl encrusted matching to just tie into either a braided hair look or dress up a basic up do
