Positano Arrival

It only been six months since our honeymoon in Monaco and the French Riviera but we were already craving more… Originally planning to visit Hawaii for my birthday we were pleasantly surprised with the crazy flight deal to Milan! It was an offer we couldn’t refuse $408 nonstop from NYC but Joe made the deal even sweeter by purchasing through Chase portal for an extra 20% discount! All in 68,000 points round-trip for both of us!!!

Joe and I caught a few hours of sleep but still had a long travel day ahead of us. Once we landed in Milan we switched airlines to EasyJet for a flight to Naples. Of course our bag was overweight! It’s so hard to pack in the spring you never know what you’ll need!

Last minute travel hack when your bag weighs in heavy!

So I needed to come up with a solution and I needed to act fast. So there I was stuffing my clothes into the ARMS of my jacket to reduce the weight of our luggage! It works people! Remember you can carry your coat over your arm!

We still had too many bags so we had the idea to get a duty-free giant shopping bag and threw my purse in there. Since the duty free bag is from the airport the airlines assume you just purchased something and the bag does not count as luggage either! Well that was a win, no extra luggage fees. If I had a photo of this moment that I could document here, I would include it for pure pride of getting out of the overage fees! We will just have to use our imaginations; this hot mess walking through the airport with duty free bags and arm filled jackets !! hah

 Landing in Naples

Now onto our flight just about to touch down in Naples can’t wait to see what Italy has to offer.
Wow what a drive!! We landed in Naples and found our driver Antonio a fabulous Italian and charismatic driver who drove us through the tiny streets of Italy. However there was no denying I got so sick on the drive. We’re talking serious cliffs that drop to the waters below, sharp turns that could easily crash into on coming traffic, but luckily we made it to our hotel Villa Franca with no issues! Antonio, thanks again for stopping on the side of the cliff for me to get some air and start breathing again!!

Hotel Villa Franca. We really got lucky here. I have a plethera of friends who have stayed at this hotel for their honeymoon or in the summer and paid upwards of $800 a night. I some how booked this beauty during low season for $250 a night including breakfast. WHATTTT!?! What a steal! Plus we scored a beautiful room with a view of the water! I can’t tell you how happy we were to arrive and be welcomed at HVF. The best part is we decided to stay here all week as our homebase. (which is very rare for us) We decided since most of the towns are close by either by boat, car, or bus setting ourselves up in the middle would negate having to move our luggage on boats trains and buses! Still our best choice of the trip to date!

We showered our travels away and were surprised by our new friend Andrea. The hotel surprised us with honeymoon champagne in our room! How lovely it was and just what we needed upon arrival. We made sure to visit him Andrea (the bartender) before dinner. He ended up creating the most fabulous drink for me; St. Germain, rose liquor, rose champagne, Gray Goose vodka, and a spiral cucumber with strawberry slices at the bottom  for garnish. The best part is that he named it, Amanda! Plus he said he would add it to the menu. We then walked down a spiral road and chose restaurant Sariñana for dinner. Enjoyed ravioli, gnocchi, and veal it was pleasant but we were ready to rest our heads in excitement for the next day.
